If you accept a position at the Church of the Epiphany, you will be asked to sit in on a live VIRTUS Training, perform a background check and credit check if you will be working with money, and also to sign a Pastoral Code of Conduct.  In some positions, a physical is required.

You are able to register for the training, get a background check and sign the code of conduct all online at www.virtus.org.  Here is a guide to help you with the process.  During this process you’ll watch a short video regarding the code of conduct and answer some questions for mandatory reporting.

Jobs at Epiphany

Full-Time Food Prep Assistant

Schedule: 30 hours weekly or as assigned by supervisor, with benefits.  It is a 9½ month position.  Work schedule to follow that is set by the Hospitality Director.

Purpose:  To assist with the production of healthy and nutritious meals and clean up for the Pre-K through 8 program.  To assist with the snack program after school and non-school days. To assist with other kitchen duties for the School and Parish.

Representative Responsibilities:
A.    * To be present where needed
Ready to work as needed to meet responsibilities.  Includes recognizing when situations require more effort, seeking approval to put in more time if needed, satisfying responsibilities in a timely manner, providing an example of punctuality and attendance and generally ensuring all is ready and taken care of.

B.    *Major Position Responsibilities
  1. Assist with high quality, daily food preparation.
  2. Provide friendly meal service for students, parents, and staff.
  3. Assist with cleanup.
  4. Comply with all state Department of Health regulations.
  5. Comply with all state and federal rules and regulations of the National Hot Lunch program, including the Free and Reduced price lunch program.
  6. Demonstrate competency in doing the work of other staff members as delegated.
  7. Ability to be organized and meet deadlines.
  8. Participate in appropriate in-service meetings, training.
  9. Support school events, activities and schedules.
  10. Understand and fulfill all aspects of the employee and school handbooks.
  11. Assist with School and Parish activities.
B.      *Daily Responsibilities
  1. Prepare and serve quality food daily.
  2. Prepare food that meets state standards for quality, quantity served and food groups.
  3. Assist with cleanup.
C.    Other Responsibilities
Includes other responsibilities identified as needed by the employer and approved and/or assigned by the supervisor.

Job Qualifications

Must be an active, participating Roman Catholic.
Possess a minimum education and training: High School diploma or equivalency and experience in the food service industry. Culinary education is preferred, but not required.
Exhibit competence in food preparation and cooking/baking for quantity meals.
Possess knowledge of state and federal health regulations.
Demonstrate respect for students, parents, staff, and co-workers.
Possess the physical abilities to prepare and serve food and appropriately clean the kitchen area.
Keep supervisor appropriately informed.
Maintain confidences.

FT Teacher – Preschool – Kindergarten

Educational Requirements and Qualifications

  1. BA/BS degree in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education–preferred
  2. Current State of Minnesota License—preferred.
  3. AA/AAS degree in Early Childhood Education
  4. Minimum of 3 years teaching experience with 3-12 year olds (post college).
  5. Knowledge of DHS Rule 3 and NAEYC.
  6. Strong organizational abilities.
  7. Effective oral, written and interpersonal communications skills.
  8. Ability to work effectively and collegially with others in a team setting.
  9. Ability to make sound decisions.
  10. Ability to work without supervision.
  11. Ability to learn and implement “best practice” educational strategies.
  12. Ability to manage students effectively.
  13. Ability to write an age appropriate, faith-based curriculum.
  14. Maintain First Aid and CPR certifications.
  15. Ability to take direction from supervisors and effectively implement new programs, processes, and procedures as instructed.
  16. Must be flexible.

FT Teacher – Middle School Language Arts

Experience required: Faith-filled, joyful, and practicing Catholic; Minimum of 3 years teaching experience In Language Arts;  BS or equivalent in education or comparable field; Mastery of the written and spoken word; Robust knowledge about classical education; Minimum of 3 years experience working with youth in the formation of virtue and Christian character.

Educational Requirements and Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in education or related area.
  • Preferred current State of Minnesota Teaching License – Provide appropriate original credentials for documentation.
  • Appropriate educational experience.
  • Active, practicing Catholic.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with parents, colleagues, and administration.
